01 Mono Ethylene Glycol
Introduction: Ethylene glycol is also known as "glycol" and "1,2ethylene glycol", referred to as MEG. Its chemical formula is (HOCH2)2, which is the simplest diol, which includes ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol and triethylene glycol. The so-called ethylene glycol is Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) which is obtained by hydrolysis of ethylene carbonate (EC).
Use: Ethylene glycol is an important basic petrochemical organic raw material, which can be mainly used for the production of polyester fibers, unsaturated polyester resins, antifreeze agents, lubricants, plasticizers, nonionic surfactants, and explosives. In addition, it can also be used in coatings, photo developing solutions, brake fluids, and ink industries, which has a wide range of applications. About 75% of the world's MEG production is used for the production of polyester fibers, 15% for the production of polyester resins (mainly for paints), and 10% for the production of antifreeze/deicing fluids/surface coatings. Its products include fiber grade, industrial grade and antifreeze. Therefore, MEG is also called polyester chemical fiber raw material.
02 Diethylene glyco
Introduction: Diethylene glycol is a toxic organic compound with the structural formula HO-CH2CH2-O-CH2CH2-OH. Diethylene glycol can be used to make antifreeze, gas dehydrating agents, plasticizers, solvents, and the like. It can also be used to synthesize unsaturated polyester resins.
Use: It is mainly used as gas dehydrant and aromatic extraction solvent. It is also used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, resins, greases, printing inks, softeners and finishing agents for textiles. Additionally, it can help to extract coumarone and quinone from coal tar.
Introduction: Terephthalic acid (PTA) + ethylene glycol (EG) + additives (including DEG, IPA, etc.) = PET polyethylene terephthalate. (Features: It is a crystal structure, with characteristics of non-toxic, odorless, transparent and glossy, good toughness, good barrier property and simple processing.)
